Country Style Steak
Country Style Steak is one of my family's favorite dishes. In fact, when I give them the choice of grilled Ribeye or Country Style Steak, I never know which they will choose. My cousin says Country Style Steak is her "last meal" choice. Serve with mashed potatoes, cole slaw, green beans and pickled beets. You just can't get any better.
Start by seasoning each piece of cubed steak. Salt enhances the flavor of dry-aged beef.
I use salt or a homemade rub. Just use your favorite seasoning.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium to medium high heat.
Flour both sides of the steak.
Fry for a couple of minutes on each side. The goal is to just sear the outside.
This will form a crust to keep the flavor in as it continues to cook in the crock pot.
Put the steak in the crock pot as you remove it from the skillet. Add about an inch of water. Cook on low for 6 hours. Or if you want it to cook during Sunday church, cook for 1 hour on high, then turn to low for 3 hours. It will be ready when you get home for lunch.
I hope your family enjoys this as much as mine.
